I agree with you that we don't 'need' to hit rock bottom before making a change.
And yet... how many people change in comfort? And how many people need suffering/ discomfort/ upset to change? We're a culture that feeds off distractions and illusions.
In my experience, unfortunately, I don't know many people that made drastic life changes when things weren't dire, and demanding for them to change. Certainly, this was my experience. I ran until I hit an emotional wall. That's when I realized I needed to change.
I'm curious, on your journey, when did you make a change in your life? Were you able to do so without reaching a point of severe discomfort?
I hit hard times, although I don't think I hit my "basement" at that time... It was more a lining up of support, hard spots, timing, and my abuser going to prison at that time. I hot a lot of pretty horrific spots, but I was not ready until I was ready, and at that time, in some areas I was actually doing better than I had in years.
I feel saddened to know that you suffered so deeply. Thank you for sharing yourself so openly. You give permission to others to do so, as well. Keep writing, Belle. I'm reading. 🙏✨🥰
Love this offering, Belle. 👏✨🙂
