The disconnect between what is promised and what is practiced in mental health and substance use treatment is alarming. We need to prioritize personalized supports and integrated care to truly help individuals. It’s time to move beyond marketing buzzwords and focus on what works.

Great post!! In acute car, patient centeredness suffered when hospitals veered away from primary nursing. Back then nurses knew everything about their patients and it was natural to personalize care. It went away so we could better "work to the top of our license" but in retrospect it was a cost reducer. With the EHRs it's easier to pick a standard care plan. It's all about cost and efficiency which are the antithesis to personalized care.

You bring up another area of care here! Wow... It's been such a ride for patients in these areas! Thanks so much for taking the time to read and for your comment. I appreciate you!
